Abstract

The CVL gives a continuous measurement and a measurement of the velocities in the very thin beds allows SYNTHETIC SEISMOGRAMS to be produced (it will be seen that the synthetic seismograms cannot be made without a continuous sampling of the velocities of successive thin beds).
