Abstract

The cursor (1) may be moved to demonstrate how the SPREAD, of the type indicated in C, receives the energy arrivals which have the correct geometry. These arrivals are recorded using the spread. This demonstration explains the great difference which exists between the methods of seismic reflection and seismic refraction. In the case of reflection, the spread is always close to the energy source, in refraction, it is always relatively far off (see page 4).
