Abstract

Thanks to the geometric effect of the NORMAL MOVEOUT CORRECTION, each trace in a SECTION corresponds, at least geometrically to the TRACE which would have been obtained had the source and receiver been positioned at the same place. To this end, the TRACE obtained corresponds to the normal travel path to the reflector which explains the following sketches.
