Abstract

The seismic chain starts with the source and ends with the recording. Different links make up the various systems. Below are noted : on the first line : the principals of the systems, on the second line : their effects, on the third line : the names of different adapted processes of deconvolution and, in brackets, the references in this book. A diagram represents the marine seismic process. It includes four main components: Source, Depth of immersion, Water Layer, and Separation of reflectors. Each component leads to specific issues: Source leads to Long Signal (Shot), Depth of immersion leads to Phantomes or Ghosts (Marine Seismic), Water Layer leads to Reverberation (Singing), and Separation of reflectors leads to Multiples. These issues are addressed through corresponding solutions: Pulse Compression (Shot) for Long Signal, Deghosting for Phantomes or Ghosts, Dereverberation (Singing) for Reverberation, and Multiple Suppression for Multiples. The diagram illustrates the flow from each component to its respective issue and solution. https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href=" https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003761020/e10523ab-dbe3-4c4f-8f3e-863ae3683950/content/pg51_1.tif "/>
