Abstract

SECOND EXAMPLE - The segment ( b c d ) of the reflector, of which the centre of curvature is situated below, the D.P. is the cause of an inversion of shape : the synclinal shape (b c d) corresponds to a reflection ( https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> b ' c ' d ' ) which has an anticlinal shape. A diagram represents a Pinched Syncline geological model. It features a series of labelled lines and shapes illustrating the structure of the syncline. The diagram includes labels a, a prime, b, b prime, c, c prime, d, d prime, e, and e prime, which denote different points and lines within the model. Solid lines represent the geological model, while dashed lines represent the image on the time section. The syncline structure is depicted with converging lines that pinch inward at the bottom, illustrating the geological formation. https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href=" https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003761020/e10523ab-dbe3-4c4f-8f3e-863ae3683950/content/pg103_1.tif "/>
