A DSS for Project Investment Decisions
Abstract
The latest contribution of information technology in the oiganisational context is the decision support system (DSS). It assists decision makers, provides sufficient flexibility in decision-making style, and has the typical advantages of computerisation. This paper elaborates on an experience of a PC-based DSS development for project investment decisions in the coal mining industry. The proposed DSS is mainly meant for semi-structured and structured decisions and it contains data, model, and interfacing modules. Its unique feature is software for conflict resolution in group decision making.
