Geotechnical applications of flyash in Hong Kong
Abstract
Flyash has become available in Hong Kong as a raw material after coal-fired electricity generation began in 1982. Although overseas experiences have proved that flyash is a versatile geomaterial, the demand for flyash is rather limited in Hong Kong to date due to lack of local knowledge of the material. The paper aims to discuss some of the geotechnical applications of flyash, with particular reference to the experience in Hong Kong.
