Foundations for reclaimed landfill sites
Abstract
The paper reviews published information on the physical behaviour of landfills with particular reference to settlement and bearing capacity. The suitability and use of different foundation types are discussed. General comments are made about structural detailing, gas venting and corrosion protection in relation to structures built on landfills.
