Shear test and microscopic approach of granular material by image analysis
Abstract
The technique of image analysis is used to investigate the evolution of microstructure of Schnebeeli analogical material on direct shear tests with Casagrande classic box modified. Particular attention was turned to the vicinity of the imposed shear plane. In this zone that one could qualify as shear band, detailed observations and measurements of particles movements and voids distribution analyse are been made to shed the dispersion of mechanical global behaviour.
