Abstract

Acoustic Emission (AE) of a burst type was monitored in porous sintered glass of three different mean grain sizes. The AE signals of crack progression in specimens of geometries (three points bending) were measured with sensor and were analysed to explain the processus of damage. The distribution of the amplitude of the signals shows a difference between various size grains confirmed by scanning electron microscopy.
