Settlement prediction at Muar Flats using Asaoka's method
Abstract
Asaoka’s method with different time intervals and varying the time settlement data is use to predict the settlement performances of 3m and 6m embankment at Muar Trial. Varying time interval between 30 and 100 days does not significantly affect the primary settlement prediction and using 1 to 3.5 years settlement data gives a 10% final settlement prediction accuracy. The back calculated field c v from Asoaka method agrees with those using Terzaghi curve fitting and square time method.
