Abstract

Case studies were conducted on liquefaction-induced ground displacements, and on their caused damage to buried pipes and foundation pipes. The characteristics of the ground displacements were discussed and a regression formula was proposed in order to predict ground displacement depending on the thickness of the liquefiable layer and the gradient of the ground surface as well as the liquefiable layer. Furthermore, the causal relationship between the liquefaction-induced ground displacement and the damage to in-ground structures was examined.
