Skills and experience in immersed and floating tunnels
Abstract
The design and construction of such a unique project as an immersed tube tunnel will be a risky affair when experience and skills are neglected. On a number of recent projects things have gone wrong due to the fact that specific conditions have been misinterpreted and not taken into consideration. It also requires clear responsibilities of parties involved and a properly managed team to be successful and to avoid claims. This paper briefly describes some of the issues.
