Abstract

OCEANOR, the Océanographie Company of Norway A/S has engineered, manufactured, assembled and installed the instrumentation system for Bergsøysund and Salhus Floating Bridges. The purpose of the instrumentation system is to collect data to enable verification of the estimates made for design of the construction of the two bridges and to provide real time operational data. The instrumentation system consists of sensors for corrosion, response, environmental measurements and operational monitoring. Data from the sensors are collected by data processing units, so called GENI-200 distributed along the bridges. These units form a part of the MARCO system which is installed on oil rigs in the North Sea and elsewhere.
