Abstract

The Trans-Tokyo Bay Highway will be a toll road extending about 15km crossing over the middle of Tokyo Bay and linking up Kawasaki in Kanagawa with Kisarazu in Chiba. The plans call for the first approximately 10 km of the highway under Kawasaki waters where surface traffic is heavy to consist of tunnels, and the remaining approximately 5 km will be a bridge over the Kisarazu waters with relatively sparse surface traffic and shallow water depth. This paper introduces the design of structures and the latest construction progress (See Fig. 1.1 ).
