Abstract

High strength prestressing steels are superior to conventional reinforcing steels as well as alternative materials with regard to their price/performance ratio. Thus they are preferrably used for taking up high tensile forces. In order to perform similarly robust and durable as the less corrosion-sensitive, low-strength steels, special, if possible redundant, corrosion protection is necessary.
