Abstract

The technology to prevent corrosion is playing an important role in the ocean civil engineering. To the Rainbow Bridge opened last autumn and the New Kansai Airport scheduled for opening in this autumn, an advanced corrosion protective technology was applied. Also, in the Tokyo Bay Crossing Road and Akashi Bridge now under construction, a new corrosion protective technology has been introduced. In Japan where the marine environment conditions and corrosive conditions are severe, the corrosion protective technology is undispensable for execution of new projects of strait crossings. Here are introduced the promising corrosion protective materials and methods as corrosion protecting technology applicable such as strait crossing among the advanced corrosion protecting technologies developed recently.
