Proposed tunnel Hareid — Sula: Is a sub-sea tunnel down to 630 m bsl. feasible?
Abstract
Important parameters like construction method, driving safety and technical operation of a 16,8 km long proposed sub-sea road tunnel in Western Norway are discussed and found well within the demands for feasibility. Financially, the project needs limited public founding, but it will give good revenue for the society. Some doubt is connected to the acceptance among less confident officials and users.
