Integrated tunnel management and automatic response
Abstract
Significant developments have been made during last several decades to assist freeway control and expressway management functions for strait crossings in Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.). Currently, the operating agencies have begun the implementation of a distributed but functionally integrated, Surveillance, Communication, and Control (SC&C) systems in the Taipei-ILan Expressway which includes several long tunnels. This paper describes the innovative system software design to integrate the expressway control and tunnel management functions.
