Numerical analysis of wave force and dynamic response to the submerged floating tunnels
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the dynamic behavior of the wave acting on the Submerged Floating Tunnel(SFT). First, the drag force and inertia force coefficients in the Morison’s equation are discomposed from the measured wave force to classify the wave force property. Second, the wave force is computed using Morson’s equation or Boundary Element Method (2-D and 3-D). The computed results are compared with the experimental results. Third, slack of tether is discussed based on irregular wave experiments.
