Tassements de massifs rocheux au-dessus de tunnels
Abstract
Summary The question of settlements in rock masses due to the lowering of the water table caused by the construction of tunnels was neglected for a long time. The 1978 events at the Zeuzier dam in the Canton Wallis were surprising at first, but did show the possibly great importance of this phenomenon. The mechanism behind it, as well as the mathematical model, FES, developed to explain the events are presented in this paper. Because of the existing dams above the tunnels of the AlpTransit system, investigations and studies have been carried out for some time in order to detect any influence that could jeopardise the integrity of these structures. Some results of the ongoing study will be presented.
