Abstract

The authors propose in the first part of this paper, a new incrementally non linear constitutive model for geomaterials. This model allows for the elimination of directional iterations in the general case where the loading path is completely defined by strain rates which is often encountered in the classical finite element analysis. The second part deals with a comparison between the response predicted by this model and those given by the experiences from an undrained loading path on sand. The performances of this model for cyclic loading paths are also shown. Finally, the results of the application of this model by the finite element method, using the large deformation approach for the numerical simulation of a pressuremeter test will be presented.
