Modelling of the sheet pile wall test in Karlsruhe 1993
Abstract
The modelling of the prediction calculations made for the sheet-pile loading in sandy soil as performed at the test site “Hochstetten” near Karlsruhe is discussed. In relation with this, the extension of a new beam element according to Mindlin’s theory, and the advantages related to this are discussed. Special attention is given to the interpretation of the soil data, and to the staged construction. The result of the prediction will be given and discussed.
