Evaluation of rock mass blockiness by using mathematic model
Abstract
Before starting an engineering activity in the geological environment, the reaction of rock mass should be prognosticated. This can be based on assessment of lithological and structural features of rock mass. The analysis by mathematic model may be drawn from rock blockiness, especially from shape and size of blocks. After grouping discontinuities to the proper systems, adequate calculations of blocks’ shape and real dimension are done. The calculations are based on evaluation of mutual orientation of outcrops, joints and measuring lines. Category of conditions for equation choice is included in contribution.
