Simulation of retaining wall displacement by frost action using the segregation potential approach
Abstract
Numerical frost action models which operate using a non-deforming mesh cannot be expected to be acurate when the frost heave displacements are relatively large and induce stresses, which in turn, affect the rate of water migration to the freezing front.
