Application of freezing method to launch a large diameter shield tunnel
Abstract
The launching of 13.94 m diameter large scale shield tunnel at a depth of 43 m under Loop 7 Road with the aid of ground freezing was made in Tokyo. This paper outlines the application of ground freezing work to tunnel construction and the frozen earth pressure on launching shaft wall.
