Abstract

The application of formex algebra in data generation for analysis and design of space structures is discussed. The material is presented in terms of a number of examples with a view to explore the ideas and to examine their basic characteristics. It is demonstrated that the formex approach helps to turn the process of data generation into a creative and simple activity. The paper is of interest to people involved in the analysis and design of space structures irrespective of the level of their familiarity with formex algebra. A reader with no previous knowledge of formex algebra will be able to follow the paper without any difficulty.
