Abstract

The new administrative building assembly from Timisoara, Romania - now in construction - consist of three buildings with 4 to 12 levels, all of them being realised as steel concrete composite structures using space frames and reinforced concrete slabs. Composite beams were designed as steel beams interconnected with the reinforced precast concrete slabs with shear connectors. Steel concrete composite columns has rigid reinforcement made up by steel welded bands and elastic reinforcement realised from steel rolled bars. The skeletal space structures were designed to resist seismic action. Therefore, specific details were conceived in order to satisfy anti seismic provisions according to Romanian codes. Specific characteristics of the steel structure components are presented.
