Abstract

Some experiences in analysis and design of cable-stayed bridges are presented, basing mainly on the cable-stayed bridges: double-track railway bridge over Sava river in Belgrade, roadway bridge over the Danube in Novi Sad, pedestrian bridge over Sava river in S. Mitrovica and motorway bridge in the frame of Kama river bridge project. The following problems, having specific influence on the design of cable-stayed bridges, are considered: traffic to dead load ratio; bridge flexibility; fatigue resistance, effective cable modulus of elasticity and flexural stiffness of stay cables; non-linear beahaviour and second-order analysis of bridge structure and structural components; stress concentration at cable anchorage in girder and pylon; dynamic behaviour of bridge due to wind load and traffic road.
