A composite bridge over Aheloos River in Mesohora
Abstract
The new bridge over the Aheloos River, in central Greece, was planned in connection to a new hydroelectric project, for the Public Power Corporation. The bridge had to gap 80 m, with the minimum of scaffolding and assembly time, due to the unpredictable flooding behaviour of the river in this area. The paper presents the design, fabrication and erection of this single span composite bridge.
