Current trends in wind engineering: The ‘BEATRICE’ network
Abstract
After some introductory considerations, the Chapter on “Wind Actions” in the new Eurocode 1 is illustrated first. Then, as examples of recent developments in wind engineering, the structure of an informative system on the locally relevant wind speeds and a procedure for taking account of quadratic components in the determination of the structural response, are summarised. Finally, the collaboration within the European network “ BEATRICE” and its possible developments are presented.
