Abstract

Structural analyses are predominantly by either the stiffness or flexibility method, with stiffness much more common, to the point of near universality in buckling analyses. Here, an alternative is considered, where a structure formulated in stiffness has bracing added through flexibility equations. Benefits range from results that are believed to be new through to new insights into existing theorems.
