K-factor determination by ANN using adaptive back propagation algorithm
Abstract
The present paper examines the application of ANN for K factor determination for the design of both braced and unbraced columns in multistory buildings. The Adaptive Back Propagation weight update rule has been applied for the network learning and is used to train the network with the values obtained by charts and infer solutions from data not given in charts. It is concluded that the proposed method may be suitable for adoption in practice.
