Load carrying capacity field test of actual plate girder and truss bridges
Abstract
The result of field tests of load carrying capacity of two types of actual bridges, namely plate girder and steel truss bridges, is reported in this paper. All welded type of the actual plate girder bridge (Funagata bridge) and rivet type of actual truss bridge (Abukuma bridge) were loaded to the almost ultimate state. Their measured load-deflection curves and mechanical features in the ultimate state are discussed.
