Abstract

This paper presents results of the analysis of a number of pile load tests. The piles analyzed include one large bored pile and four long driven pipe piles, all of which were tested for axial compression and tension. Emphasis of the paper is placed on the determination of ultimate capacity of piles not tested to failure or near failure. In addition, existing empirical correlations which correlate soil parameters such as effective stress and SPT N value with skin friction and end bearing are examined using load test data.
