Abstract

The paper presents a modified form of the PEUL model allowing to take into account finite-rate kinetics interacting with turbulence. The PEUL model presented here results in a discretization of the multidimensional probability density function alowing to average the reaction rates with respect to turbulent fluctuations. Coupled with multidimensional turbulent flow solvers, the method can be applied at the present stage to diffusion controlled chemical reactors, and takes into account a single step chemical reaction. This model has allowed to represent in a realistic way kinetics effects in turbulent diffusion flames.
