Abstract

The preceding chapter showed that transfer phenomena (primarily heat and mass transfer) of different spatial scales constitute the basis of geodynamic processes. These spatial scales vary from levels comparable to the Earth’s radius to those of growing crystals although attention in future will be mainly devoted to large-scale processes. The largest geodynamic processes correspond to the relative movements of continents which give rise to global variations of environment and climate of the Earth and their occurrence involves maximum periods.
