Abstract

Since time immemorial the art of construction has been linked with the use of rocks. The remains of the walls of Jericho, 8000 B.C., constitute one of the first undeniable traces of their use in construction activities. Modern civil engineering continues to use these materials, mainly in the form of aggregates, the basic constituent for its technics. Thus, after water, aggregate is the product most used by man in the world.
