Abstract

This chapter focuses on dry basins and detention ponds, bounded or not bounded by a dyke. If bounded, construction procedures for detention ponds may differ from those for dry basins. Particular attention is paid to dyke construction. This point is project-specific. On the other hand, guidelines with respect to soil, earthwork and watertightness are applicable to all types of basins including underground tanks.
