Measurements and modeling of temperature fluctuations in a heated cylinder wake
Abstract
Hot-wire measurements of velocity and temperature fluctuations has been made in the self-preserving wake region of a heated cylinder. Second order statistics including Reynolds fluxes, https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> u i θ ¯ , are determined along with relevant triple correlations appearing in the Reynolds stress and Reynolds flux transport equations. The primary aim with these measurements is to study different modelling levels for passive scalar quantities. Modelling approaches for the Reynolds flux, such as eddy diffusivity and algebraic heat-flux models, are analysed.
