Longitudinal dispersion in unsteady turbulent flows on a straight channel
Abstract
According to Taylor’s theory, The velocity distribution and mass transport in a straight channel with complex section have been investigated using the method developed by Liu. The longitudinal shear dispersion coefficients are formulated in terms of eigenfunctions. The numerical results in steady flows coincide with Fisher’s estimation, and in oscillating flows, present results are similar with Chatwin’s.
