Truncation errors in the modal vibration analysis of the rotor systems
Abstract
The accuracy of two modal methods - modal reanalysis of locally modified structure and modal synthesis was evaluated with regard to natural frequencies and mode shapes of rotor systems. It’s possible to diminish the modal truncation errors using both the dynamic transformation method and inertial loading method, which are observed in this paper. A comparison of these methods is presented here. Conclusions and recommendations are made based upon the results of these investigations.
