Analytical prediction of inelastic behaviour of medium high precast R/C frame structure
Abstract
Numerous experimental studies show that the bilinear-degrading model, which has very simple and easy to implement hysteretic rules, accurately predict the real cyclic behaviour of the R/C linear elements (columns and beams) and medium high frame structures under seismic loading. This paper is using an experimental data base (held by INCERC-Jassy Branch) to calibrate the main hysteretic parameters which are: α (the post-elastic slope) and β (the unloading stiffness parameter), especially for columns and beams. According to the experimental data base, α and β are strongly dependent on the specimens mechanical properties and on their state of stress. To verify the performances of the calibrated model, an inelastic seismic analysis (with ANELYSE computer program) of three precast R/C frame structures, is done. These structures were previously tested on the 1400 kN shaking table. Comparing the analytical and experimental seismic response parameters it is clear that the established range of values for α and β provide a higher precision in estimating the nonlinear structural behaviour under earthquake loading.
