Removal of newly deposited snow on a gable roof
Abstract
In order to remove deposited snow on a gable roof with a small machine, an automatic roof snow remover was developed to cut soft snow which has just fallen. The remover consists of an electric motor (90 W) and a pair of inverse V-shaped snow cutting plates(0.2 m wide and 3.55 m long each). The plates shuttle between gables from six to seven times every two hours to cut newly deposited snow on each plate, leaving the deposited snow between the plates and the roof.
