Abstract

Jining No.3 coal mine located in Yanzhou coal mine area consists of three shafts including a main shaft, an auxiliary shaft and a center air shaft with a designed annual production of five million ton coal. Staggered freezing technique was applied to build the three shafts. The paper describes the aspects on ice wall design, freeze pipe arrangement and finite element analysis of ice wall process of the three shafts, with the emphasis on using shotcrete with wire-mesh as outer temporary shaft lining in frozen bedrock zone and using high-strength concrete mixed with silicon powder as inner shaft lining.
