Settlement of sand deposits reinforced with granular trenches under vibrations

The present investigation is an experimental study on a horizontal shake table aimed to study the influence of granular material trenches on the settlement characteristics of saturated sand deposit under varying vibratory loads. Influence of various parameters namely, relative density of saturated sand deposit, thickness and spacing of granular trench and acceleration etc. has been studied. The test data has been analysed to bring out the influence of granular material trenches on settlement characteristics of sand deposit subjected to vibrations. Comparison has been made with the reported data.
