Abstract

Pile-raft-foundations are predominant used for the security of bearing capacity and reduction of settlements under weak-ground conditions. In this case it was necessary to reduce the settlements and consequently the differential settlements of a brown-cole power plant with its exceptional vertical loads of about 22,000 tons per stanchion. Therefore extensive calculations were executed in the planning state and its results were compared by measurements of the compression of the subsoil in different depths. In this study details of foundation fabrication as well as results of planning investigations, application limits as well as bearing and deformation behaviour are given.
