Design capacity tables for timber
Abstract
Some design capacity tables for timber will be released in 1998. These tables have a format very similar to that of the design capacity tables for steel members. The paper looks at the potential for use of the Design Capacity Tables for Timber (DCTT) and demonstrates that there is a use for them in the offices of practicing engineers and in education as well. The rationale of the tables and the technical justification of them is presented.
