Behaviour and design of concrete filled fabricated steel box columns
Abstract
This paper describes the behaviour and design aspects of concrete filled box columns fabricated with very thin steel plate in multistorey buildings. The construction and service load aspects of these members and the implications to design are discussed. Furthermore, the behaviour and design of these members for ultimate loading is considered and a numerical model is presented and compared with a set of experiments undertaken.
