Abstract

Research information on workability of high performance concrete with Australian steel fibres is lacking. In this paper the research finding on the workability of high performance steel fibre reinforced concrete of strengths between 50 and 100 MPa is presented. American Standard specifies a dynamic test for the slump of steel fibre reinforced normal strength concrete. In this investigation a novel method of utilising both the slump cone test and a dynamic test were used. It was found that a combination of optimum range of slump and time of flow give a better measure of the workability of high performance steel fibre reinforced concrete (HPSFRC). The paper presents the test results and gives the optimum ranges of slump and time of flow.
